Almond Milk Ingredients, Variations, and How-to-Guide
Ingredients
Unsweetened:- 1 cup almonds (soak for at least 8 hours)
- 32 oz water
- 2 tbsp organic vanilla flavoring (optional)
- 3 tbsps organic pure maple syrup
- 3 tbsp Stevia
- A few medjool dates
- Raw Honey
Additional Variations
- 20-30 peanuts to make peanut-almond milk (my personal favorite for smoothies)
- 20-30 blueberries to make blueberry-almond milk
- (this was actually pretty tasty even though it sounds weird)
- In addition, ½-1 Banana
- (also tasty, and with the blueberries, it's really good)
- Try less water for a creamier almond milk
Instructions
- Soak almonds (and peanuts) in water for 8-12 hours
- strain water
- Blend everything chosen together for 2-3 minutes
- Blenders:
- Magic Bullets and the Ninja are great and affordable options I personally use
- Strain the milk out with a cheesecloth or nylon bag and store in the fridge
- I like wide mouth Mason Jars, easy to strain in these and store away
